Adult Family Homes

Programs that are presently available consist of three different state licensed Adult Family Homes - each suited to serve up to four individuals.  Individuals may reside in an Adult Family Home for as many months or as many years as they would benefit from such an environment.  Our Adult Family Homes have shown great success with people transitioning into one of our Supported Apartment programs and eventually living a more independent lifestyle.  All programs provide assistance with individualized programming created to promote independence and continued growth.  A person could begin services with ILS in either of the programs based on their present needs.    In all homes, transportation may be provided by ILS and is utilized as appropriate for each individual.  During the initial 30 days, 100% supervision may be required so that staff can become familiar with the individual and the individual with us.  Following the 30 days, outings and events are assessed and staff supervision is provided as determined by the program and team members.  As independence is a goal for participants, reduction in staffing patterns is a possibility to see how situations are handled.  Each resident occupies his/her own bedroom and shares common areas (kitchen, living areas, family rooms, and shared bathrooms).  All participants take part in meal preparation and and planning and maintaining a clean environment (vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, doing dishes).  If interested, residents are allowed to take part in outside activities as well (flower beds, garden, shoveling, and mowing the law
